How are our products made?

Ever wondered how we make our products here at Sugar Pups? Read to find out!

How Sugar Pups bandannas are made:

Step One: Fabric
First, we have to cut out the fabric you choose! All of our fabric is high quality, cotton or fleece fabric that we purchase by the yard. Before we cut them, we have to iron out all of the crease marks. We then take one of our custom cut templates in the size you ordered and cut a front and back peice.

Step Two: Sew
Then, its time to sew! We flip the two pieces so that the sides with the patterns are facing eachother, and the blank side is up. Then we clip them together and get sewing! We leave a small opening on the top edge.

Step Three: Flip and Close
Once it's all sewed together, we flip it inside out so the pattern is facing the outside. Then we sew a line along the top to close up the hole and fully secure the bandana.

Step Four: Snaps
Next, we have to attach our snaps to the two sides of your bandna. Each bandana has two snaps, so it is adjustable. We line up all 8 peices and then use our tool to attach them securly.

Step Five: Iron, Lint Roll, and Package
Lastly, we iron the whole bandanna to get out all of the final wrinkles and then lint roll it to make sure there is no dog hair! We then put it in a celophane bag to protect it.

And there you have it! One Sugar Pups bandana!

How Sugar Pups stickers are made:

Step One: Design
First, we have to design the image on the stickers! All stickers are original designs made by us. We use the apps Procreate and Canva to create our designs

Step Two: Print
Then, we have to print out the designs we made. We use the Epson WF-3540 Inkjet printer and the Koala Printable Vinyl to make the first form of our stickers.

Step Three: Laminate
Next, we laminate the printed sticker paper. We use the Dekewe A3 Laminator with Scotch Laminate. We have to cut the laminate to the correct size, and only put it on the front of the printed sticker paper.

Step Four: Cut
Lastly, we cut out our stickers. We use the Cricut Explore 3 to cut them to the correct shape so that all stickers with the same design are the same size and shape!

And there you have it! Sugar Pups Stickers!

How Sugar Pups Collar Charms are made:

Step One: Prep Molds
First, we have to prepare the molds for the resin to be poured. To do this, we wipe each section with a wet paper towel to clear any debree and then spray the mold with 98% isoprophyl alcohol to prevent bubbles from forming.

Step Two: Pour 1st Layer of Resin
Then, we mix up a 50:50 ratio of resin (A) and hardener (B). We then pour this clear resin into the molds, filling each section only halfway, to leave room for the second layer.

Step Three: Add FIMO's and Wait
Next, we carefully arrange the FIMO's (decorations) into the first layer of resin (clear). Once they are correctly placed, we wait 24 hours for the layer of resin to fully cure.

Step Four: Pour 2nd Layer of Resin and Wait
then, we mix up another 50:50 ratio of resin (A) and hardener (B). This time, we add alcohol ink to dye the resin, along with glitter for some extra sparkle. We then pour it on top of the first layer, and add a tiny "o-ring" to provide support around the hole. Now, wait 48 hours for the whole charm to fully cure.

Step Five: De-mold and Add Split Ring
Lastly, we de-mold the charms, and add a split ring so it is able to be hung from your pup's collar!

And there you have it! Sugar Pups Collar Charms!

How Sugar Pups harnesses and leashes are made:
Disclaimer: Our harnesses and leashes are produced by and manufacturer, not handmade. However, they are a completely original design that has been fully created by Sugar Pups.

Step One: Design and Sample
First, we spent 6 months designing and sampling harnesses and leashes. We had to draw up a 100% original design (see Instagram/TikTok video titled "the process" to view our manufacturing blueprints!) from scratch. We had to consider material type (nylon material, plastic buckle, metal D-rings, plastic sliders, ect.) to make our products the best quality.

Step Two: Manufacturing
Then, we had to find a manufacturer that could produce our products quickly, effectively, and at the best price. Finding a trustworthy manufacturer is much harder than you would expect! Especially because we wanted to make sure that they were US based and WRAP-certified (meaning every worker has access to a safe and healthy workplace respectful of local laws and regulations, as well as internationally recognized standards).

Step Three: Providing for You
Lastly, we placed a large order for our harnesses and leashes (plus many restocks), and now they are available to you all!
